Address searches and Near me

When an address needs a location lookup, RoadWorq sends it through its server to the US Census geocoder. New address lookups use a request body rather than an address in the API URL. The address service still receives the address. Older cached versions may use an address in the API URL.

Near me asks for your browser's location permission. The app uses that location to center the map and find nearby projects. You can decline and choose a place or search instead.

Links and browser history

The browser address bar can contain your exact searched address or coordinates. Bookmarks, history and links copied directly from the address bar may preserve them.

Search and map links containing query parameters ask search engines not to index that page. This does not make the link private or prevent people and other services from accessing it.

New interactive project and street searches use request bodies. Older cached clients and the text-only search page can still put searches in URLs. Request bodies do not remove location clues from browser history or guarantee that hosting infrastructure never records them.

The app's Copy link control rounds place coordinates to about a 1 km grid and removes address text by default. This is approximate sharing, not anonymity. A selected project can still reveal the area. Include exact location and address only when you intend to share them.

Saved work

Saved projects and areas stay in this browser. The list contains public project or area identifiers, the names and project details you saved, agency/source links and the time you saved each item. Saving does not send the list to our server, create an account or subscribe you to alerts.

Opening a saved project requests its current published record and may load the map services described below. Your list does not sync between devices. Clearing site storage removes it. Download a backup from Saved work before clearing data or changing devices; importing that file reads it in your browser.

Remove or clear items on the saved-work page. Undo can restore your last change while this app remains open; it does not survive a reload or override a later change in another tab. A downloaded backup provides a longer-lived copy.

Maps, cameras and hosting

Closing the quick guide saves a preference in this browser so it stays closed on your next visit. That preference contains no address or location and is not sent to our server. You can reopen the guide at any time or clear the preference by clearing site storage.

Your browser downloads map imagery from OpenFreeMap and may load public camera stills from agency services. Those services receive network requests, including your IP address; map requests can indicate the area you are viewing. Opening an agency source visits that agency's site.

Address lookup responses are marked private and non-cacheable. The application does not intentionally write address searches to its own logs. Hosting infrastructure and upstream services may retain request metadata. Their retention settings have not yet been verified, so no deletion period or promise of zero logging is made here.

There is currently no account, checkout or advertising analytics integration in this application. This page describes the current implementation and will need review when those features change.
